John on Scotland

Can Scotland now humble France and Ukraine? There was once a time when no team in the world would want to play us. If you were in France jersey now, would you be able to say with 100% certainty that the game was a foregone conclusion? Forget 2nd - aim for 1st knowing the fans would be over the moon with 2nd. Platini - from Richard Woolley

Is Michel Platini the greatest midfielder of all time? His strike rate for a midfielder was phenomenal, more than a goal every two games for France! He ran almost every game for France, a great passer of the ball and great goal scorer, I loved the way he galvanised France in the 1984 Euro Championships when he scored 9 goals including a hat-trick against Yugoslavia and that famous late winner agai...[Read more]

Is Ronaldinho the best?

RedPMc asks:I don't think he is. He may be one of the most skillfull along with others like Ronaldo(MUTD SCUM) and Robinho but as far as being the best i think not. In my opinion players like Gerrard, Kaka and Riquelme are alot more effective in games and are therefore better. Ronaldinho does not boss games in the way the other 3 players i mentioned do. What does everyone think? ...[Read more]

Morientes and Spanish football

JT says:Morientes is quoted to have said "I dont like the physical nature of the game in England or the referees who let more things go, and blow for fewer fouls like here, a striker isnt protected from rival defences and they gave me a real hard time" This to me says it all about whats wrong with a Spanish players mentality: 'failure to adapt to oppenents'.This probably could explain why Spain ...[Read more]

Paul Scholes return? - Paul Scholes- FI...

I can't help thinking how poorly England have done since Paul Scholes left two years ago, they didn't win any games by more than one goal unless it was poor opposition and i think this is mainly down to predictability. One thing Scholes always had was his vision (lol) and his unpredictable passes that put his team mates in good space. He brought a calming sense to the whole team and keeps the ball...[Read more]
