Have you all seen this: news.bbc.co.uk/sport...What do you think? 960 points is quite a marginal difference to second placed Frank Lampard's. Do you think its a spot on decision?

Yes, Ronaldinho is by far the best player in the world.
For Lampard to be mentioned in the same breath really is a disgrace.

I think whoever voted for this thing has got it all worng. Frank Lampard in 2nd place. what were they thinking? No way is he even the 222nd best player, let alone the 2nd. ok im going ott but not by much. Hes not even Englands best midfielder. people only rate him that high because he scores goals - not a midfielders job.

Rightfully deserves it
And unlike any premiership player, he's a guy who loves the game rather than his millions. He is without a doubt a classy players and has earned every single acheivement, from signing with Barca to winning now 2 FIFA player of the Years.

About that topic, in my opinion, '04/05 was the year nobody could tell who was better outside of Ronaldinho. I didn't see anyone individualy stand out other than him.

Guess that the entrance requirements aren't too stringent. In what way do you call 960 to 429 marginal? Sounds like Ian Duncan Smith after an election.

It's laughable comparing Ronaldinho with Lampard! Whoever and however he became nominated is an error in judgement! Objectively Lampard can't be better than Rooney or Steve ....and that's even in UK alone!
Common! Wake up!! Ronaldinho is a footballing god!!!!!!!!!

Ronaldino is far far more superior than Lampard. It just proves my beleief that the administrators will do any thing to get the English fans going.
Most English fans will definitely disagree with me but I can mention at least 20 players who are head and heals above lampard (Though I definitely am a fan of lampards on and off the feild mannerisim and conduct of character). Kaka,Adriano, eto, henry,Rooney,Requilme,Messi, veira,Abrahomonovich,Shevchenco,Rouben,Wright - philips (yes wright phillips),Pirlo,John Terry, and the list just goes on.

Ronny did deserve it but why does he get both the ballon de-or and world player of the year!
Should not a european player not a brazilian pick up the european honour?
Then at least someone like gerrard or lampard would have got their names in the history books!
Its not right really!

These FIFA officials are just stupid, Besides not having a clue on football they should atleast try watching some games prior to comming to a conclusion. I watch about 40 games a week from the EPL, La liga and the Sere A.
Frank is a great role model and I would wish my son to an individual like Frank lampard on and off the field in any profession he gets into and I beleive that he is interested in "Finance", but to even compare Frank Lampard to Ronaldino is a Joke. I could pick uo 10/20 players in the EPl itself superior to Lampard, and the EPL is by far the best league in Europe. Rooney, Gerrard, John terry, Wright Philips, etc.
I am a great fan of Lampard as he definitely is a great individual and definitely an idol for kids unlike the arrogant, Roy keannes, ungratefull Rio Ferdinands, and the dirty Alan sherarers -- This arrogant even had the English foobling administratos at Ransom in 95/96 when he actually destroyed / ended the carrer of a fooballer.

No qualms about Ronnie. But I think FIFA was just joining the Baloon d'Or bandwagon to insult fans that Lampard is 2nd best in the world. I insist that this guy should not have come anywhere near the award place. I certainly don't know what Lampard has done except some few goals for Chelsea. But does this require a whole global award? Or is the Russian mafia involved in such rubbish manipulations? Ronaldinho is head and shoulders above the rest. Lampard is rubbish in comparison.Quoted

It's Abramovich display for you, else I cannot understand why FIFA will stoop so low to nominate Lampard as 2nd best inthe world. Let them give fans some reasons other than just gloss over such rubbish!! Ronaldino is far far more superior than Lampard. It just proves my beleief that the administrators will do any thing to get the English fans going.

I agree i think players like gerrard who carry teams through matches and inspire comebacks like the one in istanbul should have more of a recognition!
