Great performance today. Nice to see RVN and Rooney get a goal each. Shame about the refereeing. I thought Howard Webb made bad decisions against both sides.

cant really remember him making a bad decision against them tbh. was starting to wonder what its gonna take for us to get a free kick, and the penalty turned down was just ludacris. oh well, 0-2, just as i predicted! CMON UNITED

I don 't think our performance was great today, we struggled for a good part of the game to impose ourselves, although Newcastle lost two midfielders due to injuries and haven 't been in great form recently. Hadn 't it been for Boumsong 's mistake, I don 't know whether we would have left the pitch as winners. Generally, United haven 't been convincing yet, but they have what they were missing last year, that cutting edge up front! Another great performance for Rooney, who scored the first and provided the second, I think he 's already heading to becoming our best player of the season. In fact, as things seem so far, Rooney is the cornestone of United 's success...

yeah really got to agree with you there, second half of last seaon we were playing very well but not putting away our chances. this year we're doin it the other way round. But i'd rather win ugly, especially since we dont normally start well. and we're gonna need to keep it up. Yeah,i don't mind playing like that (not too bad) and getting the 3 points. The ref was terrible,he ignored about 7 fouls on Ronaldo.THe penalty was as clear as daylight. The yellow cards were the other way round, but thank God we won. Ronaldo wasnt too good ,I thought Park should have gone on earlier.

U knw, mayB we could get by playing like we did today against newcastle.but the fact is tht chelksi dosent hav a boumsong to screw up, TWICE! Ronaldo pissed me off cuz even though he was fouled, he would lay on the ground and stop playing...and ofcourse we need a midfielder b4 wednesday.....we got lucky, now we need to get good...

The frustration of being hacked to pieces and some heavily contentious decision going against him seemed to phase Ronaldo some. I saw some neat work out by the right by-line, where he left two defenders on their arse, result in him being scythed down just before he could loft in a cross go un-noticed, as well as Carr pulling him down in or just on the edge of the box (which should have been a red as he was the last man) go un-noticed. Webb had a terrible match which seems to be reflective of the epidemic of poor refereeing that has been a truly remarkable aspect of the season's opening. I know refereeing decision's birth diatribes every season but there has been little worthy of positive note in the refereeing decisions over the past fourtyish games, except the charlton - middlesbrough game which flowed quite smoothly, though middlesbrough's football didn't ;D Great match from mr Potatoe-head and O'Shea looked more than measured in the defense. I liked the fact that frustration never set into our play like last season where you could see panic and edginess flushed through the side in games like the Blackburn and Middlesbrough one where we'd sell ourselves short by letting pure panic eat into our ability to play football. I'm liking what I'm seeing so far from our performances. Yeah,i don't mind playing like that (not too bad) and getting the 3 points. On a different note, does any1 else feel like chelsea has 13 players on the pitch when they play!!! their fitness level is much higher than ours, for now.... whats up with you lot, no goals conceded 3 straight wins its early days guys have opinions yes but lets not be too over critical,ok so it was,nt vintage utd but has,nt that won us titles over the years?Quoted from

I think the ref was awful today. The players did an excellent job with keeping their cools. Ronaldo was just "Harrassed" today, RVN tried to move out of the way for not tripping over the keeper, got tangled by the keeper and fell down, obviously a penulty, what did he get???????? A YELLOW CARD. Shame on the ref. The referying this season so far hs been awful. The FA should do something about it.

In what sense was it a great performance? Our midfield looked very pedestrian. It shames me to say so, but I think Jenas, Emre and Parker have far more going for them than Keane, Scholes and Fletcher. Sir Alex has got it completely wrong with Darren Fletcher. The guy's a defensive, holding midfielder at best, yet he's being played as one of the two more offensively-minded midfielders. As for Scholes, he was a great player, but I don't know why he's in the team. Is it just for his passing? Maybe, because he won't get us the 10-15 goals he used to in the past.
