This posting has been hidden during moderation because it broke the House Rules in some way.

Building from the back.

Hes sorted out the goalkeeper situation, now the back four and in the summer the big one = the midfield.

i agree we are quite solid in defence and with heinze back soon we will be better we still need to replace keane - fergie tried with smith but failed personally i think he should get new midfeilders but with past signings i dont trust his judgement (veron, kleberson)

Why are we wasting money on defenders , we need to buy players who can replace Keane and Beckham..... and soon Giggs and Scholes!

Quoted message from Researcher 2892353coopersunitedcoopersunitedcoopersunitedcoopersunited

We need defenders as well. A good partner for Rio and back-up for LB once Henize is fit. The purchase of Vidic and possible purchase of Evra sorts the defence out. At this moment our midfield can compete on a domestic level, if there isn't players available who are better than the players we presently have, why waste money buying anyone. We can acheive 2nd and win both cups with the midfield we have and then in the summer we can buy big. Also why would a top class player come to Utd at the moment when we have no European football, lets win a trophy and get back into europe, then we'll be a more attractive properition.

Fergie has already said "the one we want is playing in the champs leauge and not available untill the summer" so dont worry about it, the defence is sorted for years now and there will be a couple of midfield signings in the summer i guess

How you can even mention kleberson and Veron together is beyond me. What I would give to have Veron in this team now. Don't you realise that Kenyon sold Veron against Fergies wishes to, OH guess who Chelsea and where did Kenyon end up 2 months later mmmmm let me guess. Veron was one of the most talented players to where a red shirt in the last 20 years and we wasted that talent by not building round it. United actualy looked like a decent team in europe while he was in the team but how have we played since he left, Cr@p thats how, wake up he should never have been sold and the team should have been built round him, with his vision behing rooney and ruud we would be a force to reckon with.

If Fergie is loading up the defence, do you think that he might try Heinze in midfield when he comes back?

Defensive qualities, combative, great player...

Maybe?

I agree mate, i've put this arguement forward to so many people but they just jumped on the "Veron is rubbish" bandwagon. People say he was bad when he was at ours.. no way is that the case

I just hope fergie is waiting for the summer to build up the midfield...I dont want him to move strikers and defenders up in midfield.

Veron! Behave! 28MILLION! He was not suited to the premiership! We cant build a team round a knobber who fails to concetrate for 90mins.

Unfortunately for Veron, he played in an ultra competitive midfield, and famously pulled out of a 50/50 against Citeh (possibly the worst sin of all - appart from supporting them that is). There is no doubt the lad was quality and his first touch and vision was possibly up there with Eric. The fact that you never saw Veron on his backside tells you what a quality player he really was.

I think the thing that stuck in everyones throat about Veron is that it apperead to most that the teams formation was changed to accomodate him.

It didn't work so well, he would probably fit in better now but he seems to be past his best.

No it shows you that he never put his foot in, which in central midfield in the England to be a suces you need to be abit aggressive.... Scholes,Gerrard,Lampard,Keane,Veira!
