Thanks George!

never saw you play at OT George as I was too young but the things that man could do with a football were sublime. There aren't enough superlatives to describe him

Saw George giving an impromptu exhibition when United beat Aldershot in the old League Cup in the 60's - spent over an hour still in his sweaty muddy kit signing autographs for the kids.
A flawed man - yes - a true gentleman - undoubted.

I hope his family can be respected now and given the time to grieve.

A sad loss to football.

RIP George.

They just showed one of his most memorable moments for me on BBC, where he took his boot off before passing the ball. Clas act and a legend. RIP George.
