Do you think Barton will get boo'ed this weekend?

It'd be a pity cos I think this 'transfer list' stuff is all just part of the contract negotiations.

This talk of giving him a second & thrid chance IS true, but what would the alternative be? Give him away on a free as "badly damaged goods" last summer?

Now at least if he does go we might get £4 - £6 (?) million for the club.

Unfortunately he will be booed. There is no controlling the lowest common denominators who if they had two brain cells between them all would be dangerous.

Too true I'm sorry to say.

And that could drive out a class player who I think wants to play for us but probably feels our directors are able to try to offer him below market wages because of his past 'issues' - I say the lads done well, reward him well.

Hm I'm all up for rewarding him, but to spit your dummy like this is no good.

He's apparently been offered DOUBLE what he is on now. That's a good raise if you ask me..

Evening Paddy.

Not sure about this being normal practise. Its a bit of a two fingered salute to the club and fans.

To call yourself city fans is a disgrace. End of.

I wouldn't boo too loudly cos I'm not sure people around me in the East Stand would put up with one of ours being boo'ed for long.

<laugh>

Now,now Paddy.

I'm not talking about booing every time he touches the ball for 90 minutes, but I reckon I will when his name is read out before the match. And I reckon I won't be alone.

I also reckon there might be quite a few people around you booing. East stand? Soft lads aren't they?

;)

Evening, yeah ok, maybe I could class him as being "ill advised" (? maybe!?).

Still to boo him now won't do anything but weaken our position - Because:

1.) Pearce will find it impossible to play him if the crowd continue to boo him thus forcing him out - If WE have to sell, his value WILL deffo drop. Clubs will know we've no choice.

or

2.) Force him out cos he won't put up with it. I wouldn't play well whilst being boo'ed (remember Edgehill). If there's a chance for the fans to win him over then I'd love to try.

Fair points?

Im not goin to boo him but i dont blame those that do. He has been given a chance by City. Im not talking about the one after the xmas party and im not talking about the one after the incident in Thailand - im talking about being given the chance to wear a blue shirt and represent our club. It doesnt matter what the agent has said to him he is old enough to make up his own mind. In my opinion he has insulted us city fans by making this request. By all means reject the contract. However, by making this request he is showing his true colours and they are not blue.

But he's put himself in the position! He can hardly expect a chorus of "One Joey Barton" can he?
Pearce would have to drop him for wednesday. Simple

Hmmm, Sinclair is the only 'blue' city fan I know who players for us - anymore?

And what exactly is the market rate for a midfielder who can't pass and is useless at set pieces? Get real - he knows exactly what he's doing and where he's going. He's not some poor innocent who's so desperate to leave he'll do anything. If there's one thing that we Blues like it someone who gives 100% for the shirt. I would normally agree that booing your own player is totally out of order in most circumstances but I'm absolutely seething over what he's done and, for the first time in nearly 40 years will be making an exception on Wednesday.
