Both teams had chances,
Both teams need clinical finishers.

WELL WHAT A FINE DISPLAY OF FOOTBALL FROM LIVERPOOL...THAT IS THE WAY WE HAVE BEEN HOPING LIVERPOOL WOULD COME OUT AT SUPPOSEDLY BETTER TEAMS...CHELSEA ARE PROBABLY THE BEST IN EUROPE AND WILL BE FOR THE FORSEEABLE FUTURE..FOR US LADS TO COME OUT ATTACK THEM AND TO BE QUITE HONEST BEAT!!!!!!!! THEM ALTHOUGH IT WAS NIL NIL.......WE SHOWED THAT WE ARE A FORCE IN EUROPE...LAST SEASON WAS NOT JUST DOWN TO FREAK LUCK AS SOME PEOPLE PUT IT......
LETS JUST SEE IF WE CAN MIRROR THESE GREAT PERFORMANCES TO THE LEAGUE......
WE ARE IMPROVING BUT NEED TO FIND SOME LEGUE FORM NOW.....
WELL DONE LADS GOOD PERFORMANCE ........................OH AND LETS SEE IF THE 2 PEN SHOUTS (AND NO DOUBT THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN 2 PENALTIES) CARRIES ON AS LONG AS THAT GREAT GOAL! GARCIA SCORED IN THE SEMI'S
.........I THINK NOT LOL

I am a gunner but am entirely pleased with Liverpool striking options that we gunners don't have. It is not a question of LFC needing a striker but the formation and gameplan made it look like you did not have a striker. I bet you on any day you could have beaten Chelsea with Crouch and Cisse upfront. But this was a game of strategy and not wishes. Benitez is a good coach. Crouch is a ballwinner and I believe he was specifically targeted by Chelsea defence and midfield but he rose above that.

Crouch just doesn't look the 20 goal man Owen is, Cisse would bury at least 15 if played in the right position, Morientes not sparkling at the minute but still has scored more European goals than the other two put together. For me I would try Cisse with Morientes! Crouch out!

Liverpool's build up's are too slow at times and if you have a striker like Crouch you have to put in quality crosses for him to head at and he is not getting them. Put a few in against Chelsea on Sunday and watch them crumble!

i think that cisse, nando and crouch are good top quality strikers, it's just that they need an attacking midfielder that's able to give them the ball. I also think kewell would be good for that role because a few years ago it was him who was setting up owen and heskey for goals, so i think he can do it again once he comes out of injury.
