Surely the premiership will become more intresting with the likes of Ballack and maybe Shevchenko included for Chelsea next season. Two world class players to give everything they have - surely the prem is going to rock this coming season!

I have to admit I am looking forward to seeing these two players in the premiership. Both are truely world class.

On that point I have to agree with True_Blue_Boy. Sheva and Ballack coming to the PL raises the profile of the premiership, and it is an overall positive for the league as a whole. Similar to Henry staying.

Possibly but it might be the end of the prem cos surely with one team having Cech, Terry, J Cole, Makelele, Robben, Essien, Ballack, Lampard and Shevchenko there's only one outcome. Chavski Champions 06/07

Not really, the competition is what makes it interesting. And whilst im sure watching someone like Sheva put away all the easy chances your sorry excuses for strikers have missed this season might seem interesting to you, I would prefer that on the last day the title race still isn't decided.

What a dumb post!!!

If our sorry strikers etc., are so P poor, why is it that we got more goals than any other PL side last season????

Even our midfield player scored more goals in the PL than your luckypool strikers. <laugh> <laugh>

And as for wasnting the PL to go to the last game!! It would be good, but it is not up to Chelsea to lower their standards, its up to the other sides to higher there's!!!

We have set various PL records in the last 2 seasons that will be hard to follow, especially with teams that have Cro<laugh>uch in them!!!

A faint smell of jealousy to me!!

i totally agree with you, true_blue, even though i am a hoop meself. with the newboys like reading in, and new world class players like ballack and sheva, it looks to be really promising. I just hope that it will live up to expectations! also, being a celtic fan as well, i think maciej zurawski would be a good addition if anyone ever bought him. look at his record in the past five years!

Apologies there Man Utd scored the same amount of goals as we did and by the way, Luckypool only scored 57 compared to our 72!!!

really, i thought you were joint top scorers, and without all those deflected lumpard strikes, wed have scored more. Trust me, with 2 midfielders, and thats all we need, well be challenging you next season. After all, you can only have 11 men on the pitch at once, and all your star players will be impatient and bored of bench warming. And since you do have a trillionaire owner, you should be winning more than a premiership title.

I did correct my error above:-

Back to back titles is nothing to snear at!!!

IMO, the PL is the main trophy to go for and anything else is a bonus. Quite right I would love to see us win the CL, lets see, only time will tell!!

They are certainly worth more than just a meesly Carling Cup win!!! And yes! we did win that one as well previous season.

I place my trust in Jose and I am sure he will have the magic potion sorted out by seasons start.

I can only see yourselves and La Arse along with luckypool challenging us next season, but if we start the next season as we have the previous two, you can kiss the PL bye bye and you can possibly do a back to back with the Carling Cup

Talk about dumb posts! When one side can go out and buy the likes of Ballack and Shevchenko to add to a side which as you pointed out has already been setting premiership records, it has nothing to do with raising standards.

We didn't "buy" Ballack, we signed him on a free transfer. And we haven't bought Shevchenko yet either.

Just because teams like Man Utd spend 11m on crap like Saha and Liverpool spend 7m on Crouch, doesn't mean Chelsea are paying out of their nose for everyone. We get class players, and Ballack is one of the best, and he's infinite times cheaper than the aforementioned players.

Chelsea need a poacher striker - Crespo is strong in the air and Drogba is a good support striker who can hold the ball up, but we just need that cutting edge.

Oh, and a billionaire owner doesn't carry an expectation of trophies anymore than a multi-millionaire owner like at Man Utd... pathetic attempt at demeaning Chelsea.

<doh>

We raised the standards prior to Ballack and possibly Shev.

We are just raising the standards even more!!!

Our record over the last 10 seasons is not outside the top 6, so being a good side is nothing new to us. Now we are even better, because we have the money to improve.

It does seem that there is someone else out there who is rather jealous of the money that we have available,

Bring it on and third time lucky!!

BLUE IS THE COLOUR and BLUE IS THE FUTURE!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You got Ballack on a free?? At 130k per week for 4 years, for a player who is 30 y.o. at the start of the season, who are you kidding? Assuming typical high Chelski wages of 75-80k a week, his inflated wages conceal a 8m sign-on fee. He is hardly on a 'free', is he?
I am a Blue, but I don't think Shevchenko has the magic that Henry has. But from a Chelsea point of view it would be absolutely fantastic, we'll finally have a decent striker:)
The fact is chelsea can sign whoever they want because they have a bottomless pit as far as money goes.
Everyone else has a limit. Premiership more interesting?
Only if seeing Chelsea sign every player in the world and only playing 11 of them is called 'interesting'
This is why most Chelsea fans aren't given an opinion.
Drogba and Crespo managed a total of 22 goals between them, Steven Gerrard has amassed a nice tally of 23. But ignoring the obvious fact that you haven't taken any of the atcual facts into consideration, you also miss the fact that YOUR midfield has scored more than your strikers. To put it simply the reason you have so many goals is because you have a goal scoring midfield.
As with most Chelsea fans you attribute any sort of attack on your team as Jealousy. May I remind you that in the Last two years You have only picked up the League title (twice) and the League cup(ignoring Charity Shield). Liverpool have picked up The Champions League and the FA cup (ignoring the super cup). Despite your Massive cash advantage over us we have still managed to pick up tropheys that any team would be very proud to win.
My final point is that our strikeforce in any order (Mori + Cisse or Crouch + Cisse etc) is still less than the amount you payed for Drogba, the fact that after this season it is likely that you can just Bench this cost in exchange for Sheva who is likely to cost more than our entire strikeforce (bench + starting lineup) is ridiculous. Especially considering that you have not really dominated england with the exception of the league.
