(1 x 8 x 8 x 0)+ 6 x 9 = 42 And before you say anything about my arithmetic, 6 x 9 is a worthy Hitchhiker's reference. Trust me. I've been around here for over seven years now, although I have been known to head out for an intergalactic cruise around lunchtime. In all that time I've managed to get eight articles into the Guide; Laziness, Western Poi, Bellringing, Anglican Psalm Singing, The Royal School of Church Music, Xena: Warrior Princess - An Overview, an article about where I grew up, Blewbury and I've co-authored an entry for Ealing. I'm currently writing an article about my new home town of Shrewsbury. As for me, I'm a musician, a bellringer, a bridge player, and a Final Fantasy playing, anime watching, science fiction loving nerd. Everyone should read Peer Review! Stuck for an idea? A garden for bees (Last Week)At the moment my garden is a bit of a blank slate; we have a long lawn flanked by an empty border. In the empty border I would love to put flowers that attract and are good for bees. Does anyone have any suggestions? I saw some bees going wild over lavender yesterday evening so that's a good start! Click here to discuss this (8 replies, Latest reply: Last Week) Thank Bob for Widor. (Last Week) Gods, that Toccata for Organ is just spine-chillingly uplifting. I makes me want to shout and punch the air with joy. One day I'll play the organ, one day... "Very much. Of course, they were owned by Norway until teh 15th Century..." As if the 15th C was just last week. <heart> Click here to discuss this (4 replies, Latest reply: 2 Weeks Ago) Shrewsbury (5 Weeks Ago) You know, I am so pleased that I live here. The more I find out about it, the more I love it. On Friday I tried out the route I invented for the EG article I'm working on to see if it worked, and by the time I got home I was bursting with so much joy and enthusiasm Mr Vip could barely keep me from bouncing off the walls. I spent almost the whole of Sunday with a friend of mine. Firstly we followed my route, but when we were finished (six hours later- we got rather interested in the museum) we were still excited so followed a route through all the shuts from a leaflet we picked up. I'm so glad Mr Vip chose to live here (before I moved in). Click here to discuss this (6 replies, Latest reply: 2 Weeks Ago) Swallows (May 26, 2009) I had a lovely experience on Sunday. On the way back home after spending the weekend singing at Newport Cathedral, Mr Vip took me back to a castle. It's more of a fortified house that's been, in not restored to glory, restored enough to stop further decay. It was a wonderful, higgledy-piggledy place, and when we went up the tower, I had a fantastic suprise: swallows. They were nesting in the ceilings. I got lucky on my way up, with several sat on the beams, taking a rest before heading out to get more insects (one presumes). I've never seen a swallow so close up before, with their red breasts and pointed tails... just gorgeous.
