The Faerie Glen, off the west coast of Scotland, UK, is an area of very strange appearance, situated close to Uig, a village far to the north on the Isle of Skye. It is a quiet place, except for bleating sheep, and is often described as otherworldly and relaxing. It is wild and far out, covered with many strangely-shaped little hills. It is a pleasant natural spot with more than a hint of mystery.
The area of Faerie Glen is more than 15,000 square metres [17,940 square yards. 1m = 1.0936yds. ] , made up of small, conical-shaped hillocks rising 2 - 10 metres in height, overgrown with thick, green turfy grass, littered with bleating sheep, sheep droppings, and strange yellow mushrooms of unknown power and use. There is a little brook running through it, and there is a small circle of stones, shaped like a spiral.
