Bels, I think I'll pass up on that last one if you don't mind
You'll pass up on all of them. The mods move in mysterious ways.
Anyway, spiff, they're in the British National Sound Archive, which is housed at the British Library. Non-commercial, non-pornographic, non-broken, but of course quite unsuitable for h2g2. Sorry about that, just trying to help.
entendu Bels, think i can get them back. I'm gonna transfer this to PR tom am. perhaps with all the links i can manage, then see which ones are most favoured.
thanks again spiff
I did listen to the Florence Nightingale clip before it got yanked - fascinating. Reminds of hearing a scratchy cylinder recording once on a radio programme. In amongst all the surface noise I could just about make out the words "I am Johannes Brahms. Dr Brahms."
