WARNING! May contain nuts
I sat in a chair for three hours today while some bloke inflicted serious pain on me. I used to think that I had the will power and grit to shake off any kind of torture but now I know otherwise. If you do that to someone for ten hours a day, every day, without relent, they'll tell you anything you want to hear, and quickly. The basis of the best torture is not to really, really hurt someone, but to take away all hope of ever not being in pain over an extended period of time. It doesn't have to be excruciating pain, just keep someone in a state where they don't know rest from low to medium grade pain for long enough and they'll crack.

The strange thing is he's originally from Durham, and now Austin via Leeds
I thought you went to the dentist!
Ah, no. I haven't been to see one of those for about 15 years
I got a new one just a couple of weeks ago. I'll post a piccy when it's just a bit less flaky.
It didn't take me three hours. And it didn't hurt at all.
It's a stylized 42 right under my wrist watch (like cheat notes). It took less than 5 minutes (I had to have it touched up a week later as we missed a couple of points on the hand-drawn font. That took less than 1 minute.) I would have thought that close to the bones would have hurt, but I don't think that's a nerve ending dense location. The one on the inside of my upper arm was a bit irritating. I guess if it had taken longer than an hour I might have thought it was painful. Heh, when I got that one I was a bit nervous. The artist kept getting calls from his daughter. Apparently she has some bad friends because they were around some gun fire! I told the guy that I could wait until he's less excited, or someone else can finish it. He finished with no major slips, fortunately.
I have to go back in two weeks for the colouring> It's a lot bigger than I originally planned but it works really well. I'll see if I can get a friend with a camera phone to take a picture when it's done and post it... somewhere. I'm also going to get some words done around the h2g2 tattoo I got about five years ago. I've always thought it a bit small so I'll get 'LIFE, THE UNIVERSE AND EVERYTHING' around it.
But now I need something on my other arm to balance this new one. It covers my whole upper arm from the elbow and up over the shoulder. I rather like the look of this http://www.wilderspin.net/School%20stuff/Tudors/Tuddoor%2520Rose.jpg
And it ain't cheap neither. This one's going to cost me close to a grand. Which is one big reason why I'm not going anywhere this year when I start my two weeks off on Friday.
That URL is borked, possibly by a space between tuddor and rose at the end.
That's odd, it worked yesterday in Google chat when I showed it to BV...
Try this one http://www.slippydog.co.uk/tudor/kingsandqueens/tudor_rose.jpg
That's nice. Are you going to use white ink?
A friend recently got a smiley face with gun shot wounds done on his head. The blood drips had white highlights that gave it a nice 3D effect.
We want to see a piccy when it's colored and healed.
Speaking of tattoos, I got an e-mail forward just yesterday of a man who has a quite elaborate tattoo front and back around his groin area, hips, privates, everything down there. Far too racy to post a link here, but I simply can't imagine anyone doing that. First, because it had to be beyond painful, and second because it's just stupid. I feel sorry for the artist who had to do it.
It's something you have to be ready for when you go into that line of work. If the artwork itself is worthwhile I reckon the tattooist wouldn't have minded too much. It's when they have to do something really crass and trashy that I feel sorry for them.
I'm happy that Belgian girl that got the 56 stars on her face finally got caught in her lie.
I figured her story wasn't entirely kosher but I haven't heard the latest. What's the SP?
By the way, I can't make up my mind about this one. It's either really really clever or just plain awful. I could go either way http://ugliesttattoos.com/2009/06/23/funny-tattoos-brilliant/
Originally she said she asked for only 3 stars but "fell asleep". She threatened to sue blaming the artist for not understanding her French and English instructions, (He apparently spoke Flemish with a foreign accent).
The artist offered to pay for her laser surgeries, but insisted she did ask for 56 and that there was no communication problems. The cost for the surgeries surely would have bankrupted him.
Yea, she finally had to fess up that the only reason she lied was that her dad was furious when he saw her.
Little .
ACCESS DENIED
I'll have to check it from home.
I vote for awful. And the art work on the guy's privates is extremely well done. A dragon theme.
Yeah, I was wondering how in the world any one could fall asleep while they're getting tattooed on their face... or anywhere. It hurts, damframmit!!! You can't doze of while someone's doing that to you
If you'd like to forward the email to me Hyp, I'd love to see it. goshosfiles at gmail, with a dot com of course. By the way (again), I was watching The Ladykillers again last night, and one of Mrs Wilberforce's friends is called Hypatia
It's on the way, Gosho.
The Ladykillers is a great film. I haven't seen it for years.
