Do you mean to say that on the whole of h2g2 no one has come up with anything witty in seven days?
We should be thoroughly ashamed of ourselves.
I blame 2legs - he can usually be relied on to make some surreal comment at least once a week.
It's not your fault. I don't have time to look properly. Up against it a bit this week. I'll be checking this thread regularly though.

if you need a combination of brainpower and willpower, look elsewhere
(lack of quotables this week, no reference to the biped)

Vat is 15% until 31st December 2009. Not terribly original/funny/interesting/insightful, but at least it has the virtue of accuracy.

I´m afraid the quote about the mandate of the masses is nicked from Monty Python. Couldn´t you use something from where Julzes declares himself the messiah?
The poppy quote got me. It is indeed insightful - some folk mistake wearing a poppy as somehow an act of siding with 'war' in general when really it is, what the quote says, a potent anti-war symbol while at the same time marking respect for those that died.
