The Slylandro are a fictional sentient alien race featured in the excellent PC/3DO game, Star Control II. They are made up of a gaseous material inside of a thin membrane, which allows them to live inside gas giant planets. They are small, and live on various gaseous inert materials. They reproduce using glowing bits.

Slylandro live in loneliness for many "draun", comparable to millions of Earth years each. Only occasionally do they contact other species, which is through chance encounter.

However, on one occasion they are able to aquire a probe that soars through space, trying to tell other races to visit them. However, it is programmed incorrectly, and ends up destroying each encountered vessel.

You are the one to end this calamity, with the help of the Slylandro. After doing so, you can converse with them in depth about themselves. This, though, grows weary quite quickly, and after a few minutes (.00000000000000000000000004 draun), you leave them to their desolate, boring, cloudy lives.
