I am a 30-year-old male who currently resides in Swindon2 but wants to live in Edinburgh. Mrs. Dreadful and I live in a proper house nowadays (i.e. we bought it) which is still being decorated, but is now mostly liveable.
Cross Country Pantomime
I do Live Action Roleplay, a strange activity where people dress up, stomp around a muddy campsite (or draughty old youth hostel), sometimes get drunk and hit each other with rubber swords.
I am a player at Maelstrom and am involved in the early planning stages of an as-yet-unnamed system which will hopefully be running near Swindon. I fully intend to get around to crewing Insurrection one day and hope that I'll be able to make the second Outcast event next year.
My character at Maelstrom is a Kamakuran 'flat-face'3 named Atsushi who works for the Bitter Moon Tea House.

Of course the biggest problem one encounters hunting spiders on Frontier is finding a tumbler and piece of card that are big enough.

Critical Miss
When I'm not doing Live Role-Play I go for the table-top variety, I'm not playing anything at the moment but am hoping to get an irregular game of Paranoia on the go at some point.

Cold Steel
In March 2007 I have took up Medieval Martial Arts5, it's great fun and I'd recommend it to anyone with an interest in history and/or combat techniques. From this I am thinking about giving historical re-enactment a try... at the moment Late Medieval is looking like my period of choice for no better reason than I like the clothes.
Interesting? Quite.
A couple of years back I did an IQ test. I scored 160. This means I can quote a largely meaningless number at people who claim to be more intelligent than I am.
Gore Factor 10
I like extreme metal. Particularly Carcass, Bolt Thrower and Gorerotted. Mrs. Dreadful doesn't like extreme metal and is frequently appalled at my taste in music (but she loves me anyway).

In two shock developments in 2006 Mrs. D not only said that Bolt Thrower's latest album is quite listenable, but mentioned that she doesn't mind Darkthrone
Real Ale
I'm a real ale drinker, and also a member of the Campaign for Real Ale. If you've never tried real ale I suggest you do so at the earliest opportunity... it's far superior to lager or alcopops.
Anarcho-Dandyism
In 2006 I discovered a little magazine called The Chap, "The gentleman's quarterly that is both quarterly and for gentlemen." It is through this, often satirical and occasionally serious, publication that I discovered the movement known as "Anarcho-Dandyism".
Also known as 'Agit Fop' Anarcho-Dandyism is uniquely 21st Century act of rebellion expressed through wearing nice clothes and being polite to others. We live in an age where ripped jeans are available in every high street shop and being disrespectful to one's elders is the norm... so being naturally rebellious this seemed like the logical choice. After all, what's the point of rebelling via tradtional means when everyone else is doing it?

Really, just look at my desk. I'm also possibly a Discordian, though I have been summarily pre-emptively retroactively excommunicated.
Scouting
I've had to stop being a Scout again... maybe one day I'll actually get a good run at it without Real Life tripping me up.
I am a Scout... no, not that kind of scout... rather, I am an official h2g2 Scout. My (voluntary) job is to hang around in Peer Review and select Entries which I think should be in the Edited Guide... those which don't quite cut the mustard are nudged along by myself, the other Scouts and/or any other Researchers who feel they have something to contribute.
The best advice I can give to anyone hoping to submit something to Peer Review is that you read the Writing Guidelines first to check whether or not it's suitable... it makes our job a lot easier!
Bribing me with beer will not get your Entry through PR any quicker... but I'll accept the bribe anyway.
