Simulacron3

I'm an oldish being from the Puget Sound area in the US, across the water from Seattle, Washington. The geography here could well have been the work of old Slarty Bartfast himself.

My strongest general interests are in science and technology, philosophy of mind and artificial intelligence, and forms of Internet communication/personal networking/community formation, followed by the rest of life, the universe and everything in some kind of confused and changing order.

I write about things that interest me as I learn them or ideas as they occur to me. Writing helps clarify my thoughts and reveal weaknesses.

I publish in the spirit of contributing as well as to test reaction and receive suggestions for improvement. All criticism and suggestions will be received with polite and sincere gratitude, whether they change my writing or not.

My how time flies at an accelerating pace! Checked in after a busy spell to find an entry bounced to the FM. Fair enough, I guess. Participation will be sporadic to sparse for a while, I'm afraid.

Been gone from here for a few weeks because I'd switched to the Safari browser, which apparently doesn't support h2g2 cookies well. Finally reinstalled Navigator just to check in here again.

A few of my several contributions have been selected for the Edited Guide, thanks in no small part to improvements made in the Peer Review. Tips of the hat to all those who took the time to help!

In the first week, I submitted several articles for PR. The response was valuable in improving those articles and I very much appreciate the coments and suggestions received.
