Well we had a great time in London and I feel refreshed. I had forgotten how crowded it is.
Tea at Claridges was fantastic and we also found some other great places to eat - Café Rouge in Greenwich and Tiger Tiger on The Haymarket.

Off to the Great Metropolis

Well folks we are off to the Great Metropolis for a few days from tomorrow. We will be back on Thursday night.
I cannot wait. I go to London for work on a regular basis but all I see is Euston station, the tube to Oxford Circus and a short walk to HQ and the reverse at the end of the day. No time for sightseeing.
So much to do and so little time. Staying in Docklands and lots of shops, sights and museums to visit. A 'flight' on the London Eye and tea at Claridge's
on 28th (a birthday treat for our daughter who will be 10!!! Where does time go?

Time to climb out of the hole...

Well... I've been off w*rk for 4 weeks tomorrow and many things in life and at work have been cast in a new light (mostly into sharp relief).
I met up with my boss last Friday and he has assured me that things have changed at the office.
I'm not convinced that the organisation locally has the capacity to change sufficiently to right the problems that pushed me over the edge. I thought that dinosaurs died out 65 million years ago! 
Thankfully the good days are outnumbering the bad at the moment although after a good weekend and Monday/Tuesday I came down again with a bump yesterday. By 8pm I was determined that I was not going to give in to it and I feel better today again.
In a moment of madness I applied for a promotion in another region and to my surprise I have been shortlisted. The interview is next Tuesday. Palma non sine pulvere - No reward without effort
Back to the preparation.

Away for a week

Well it's holiday time and we are off to sunny Whitby 
in North Yorkshire, Looking forward to the break regardless of the weather. There is plenty to do up there and the place we are staying has horses so our daughter will be ecstatic!

Lot of fish
and seafood 
to be consumed, the best being fish and chips at The Magpie Café http://www.magpiecafe.co.uk/
