The Mole

Visit www.goingunderground.net
The Mole is a burrower of the underground. In this case she is a very urban burrower and spends a good deal of her life travelling on the London Underground and passing comments on it.

The Mole is not a trainspotter or into maps, pictures of trains or any other teccy details. Rather she is an observer of what life is like on the London Underground and she will introduce you to the people, animals and sights and sounds on the London Underground, or the Tube as it is know to locals.

The Mole's site is www.goingunderground.net

Email me at themole@goingunderground.net

Enjoy the ride.

Tunnel Vision cont'd
Dec 19, 2001

Guess what? I'm due to interview Keith Lowe in a couple of days for my site. If anyone has any questions which they'd like me to ask him let me know here.

Here's a quick introductory synopsis from Amazon, if you're not familar with Keith Lowe's book:

"Until now, Andy's interest in the London Underground has been relatively harmless. Rachel, his long- suffering fiancee, has long since learnt to put up with it. But on the eve of their wedding, in a fit of last-minute nerves, Andy makes a drunken bet which threatens to ruin everything. His task is to travel to every tube station on the system in a single day (265 stations at not including the JLE). As part of the challenge his passport, his honeymoon tickets and his credit cards have been hidden in various places along the way - he has just 20 hours to find them all and complete his journey or the wedding is off."

Tunnel Vision
Dec 15, 2001

I'm just coming to the end of the novel Tunnel Vision by Keith Lowe and am finding myself to be as sad as the character in it.

Basically the last bits are based around my "home" tube line - the District Line and there it's weird travelling on the tube and going past stops that are being described. Also found myself shouting "silently" - "No No No there is no footbridge at Turnham Green but an underpass, have you even been to Turnham Green Mr Lowe - get your facts right." steam
