| | | | | | Some of the more polite nicknames I've received have been 'Universal Daddy', 'Bicycle Repairman' & 'HBD'. Recently the added facial growth has spawned some new ones such as 'Waco Darc'. It's probably a side-effect of building a single-speed bike
On usenet & other forums I tend to stick to DaRC I find having multiple net personalities just too schizophrenic
Oh yeah I'm also a Heathen Bard of the OBOD

Got stuck in a busy rut - work projects, cycling, gardening, druidry and then all the family stuff
Just got a propagator so I'm back here searching for stuff on growing from seed, storing herbs and other such stuff...

Long time... Sep 1, 2005
away - the real world and the other world took me away. Did I panic...nah I went all Yogic . The Androids caught me but fortunately the chip has been rejected. Probably a career limiting move but I'm still me, not a corporate shell .
Cycling well after a decade as a Lance Armstrong fan it's time to move on. Here's my final LA TDF Haiku...
TDF 2005 ======== Zabriskie TT, Der Kaiser demoralized by leg strong Armstrong.
The Belgian Quickstep: Boom-boom Boonen's first salvo, green jersey hunt starts.
Normal tour day. To Tours; the peloton cruise to the Boonen two-step.
Tailwind from Tours; Disco very best time trial, Zabriskie tailspins.
Rainy Loire Valley: After the headbutt, Oz champ gets revenge for DQ.
Mengin's hairy end; Vino strikes, Bernucci wins leaders are late in.
Wegmenn's Deutsche road; the binary showers stop. McE eats the sprint.
Long lean Weening wins. The Vosges leave Lance lonely to Three T's attacks.
"Chicken" Rasmusson: suffers like a dog to win, then dances a polka.
The rest day defense: Voigt protects his Maillot Jaune by loving the moment.
The Disco Train tune: Iles pipers, Valverde wins, Lance plays Courcheval.
Madeleine escape - Disco Telegraph to top: 'Vino Galibier!'
Quatorze Juillet! Super solo Moncoutie storms to Digne-les-Bains.
Post Alpine sprint. Escapees lost to Lotto Robbie trusts team; thanks.
Some like it hot. Totschnig, Lance, Basso: flavour Pyrenees hot-pot.
Hincapie hangs on! Attrition leads Armstrong and Basso to podium.
Pau: It's a rest day. Dane in Polka Jersey preparing strategy.
Last mountain affray. Pereiro overcomes Evans; revenge for Sunday.
Il Falco revels; Vino attack - rivals fraught, Ullrich still has naught.
Scorching hot Serrano; Spanish pepper wins in Mende Ullrich chases third.
'Turbo' Guerini; Massif Central makes his day, Le Puy-en-Velay.
It's all about today: It was all Lance, all the way Tour victory.
Wet day en Paris; Vino surprises sprinters, wins en Champs-Elysees.
Which was celebrated with a dinner of "Big Tex's Tequila Chicken Burritos" (recipe available on request) and Margherita's.

the 3 C's Oct 4, 2002
Hmmmph cycling not going too well at the mo' due to lower back pain. I know it's my own fault (too much cycling not enough stretching/Yoga) but it's very frustrating. Although I'm building a Specialized Epic FSR now aka Bike Porn for those in the know... See http://www.singletrackworld.com/
Cooking - haven't done a new recipe in ages. Still I've got a load of Tagine spices from Morocco so time to try a Tagine!
Cocktails...now that reminds me I must pick up some Margherita mix
Yes my next journal will have recipes and coktails
