| | The Home of Whoami? | |
Welcome! Hi! I'm Whoami? , and I don't really know what's most important about me. I've been around here for a long time, and I've changed quite a bit in that time. For a start, then I was at school and now I've been through uni and got a job. Some things are a given. I like to write things, to edit things that other people have written, and also to be part of a friendly and exciting community. Presently, for a paid job, I write TV listings for press, electronic programme guides and online outlets on behalf of a major UK broadcaster. But don't tell anyone. h2g2 Here on h2g2, I signed up in May 2001 and so I've been here a bewildering eight years, although not all the time. In fact, university life caused me to all but vanish for half of those eight years. In the past, I've held the Ace, Guru, Scout and Sub-Editor badges. Besides that, I do my best to get involved in conversations, and even write the odd Entry myself! h2g2 is my place to come and get to grips with words that aren't about TV, and where I'm not being measured in characters.

Hi Whoami, I'm sure you're really busy with Freshers, but fancy popping up to Birmingham?

Another year. This can mean only one thing!
And it crept past again... May 26, 2009
21st May, my h2g2 birthday. Eight years since I signed up and became U177581.
A typical sign of my organisation - I noticed this but failed to mention it until now!
I'm really back now! Sep 27, 2004
I type this sat in my room early in the morning on my first full day at UCL. I'm in Linux mode because my Windows installation would appear to have a nasty worm which I haven't managed to erase yet. Still, it works and the connection is lightning-fast. So, now I have fewer excuses for not getting that overdue subbing done!
London is feeling very big right now - but I'm having a great time and the people on my corridor and in the rest of the Hall seem nice enough!

I love UCAS Track! Mar 11, 2004
I never thought I'd say that. After all, they did send me umpteen reminders that I'd been turned down by Oxford and that annoyed me.
However, today I am happy because late yesterday I got an email telling me to go and look on the tracking service. Unexpectedly, I'd been given a conditional offer. In addition to my AAB to Birmingham and my ABB to Leeds, I can now proudly add that University College, London have offered me the following:
A in English A-level AB in 2 of Chemistry, History, French Pass at AS-level in the fourth subject
I guess that's all round, then, although it does tell me to read the UCL letter (which hasn't arrived yet) for 'further information'...
