| | Geoff Riley: This is me. | |
Hi I'm Geoff.
Lexx
Looking for the Official Lexx Fan Club?
Well it's at
http://www.lexxfanclub.org/ Forty Two
Reading around it seems that it is obligatory to illustrate how to mathematically achieve 42 starting from your researcher number. References to the myth of 42 abound.
So here goes:
- Researcher Number: 173372
- A : 1
- B : 7 - 3 = 4
- C : 3 + 7 = 10
- D : A x B x C = 40
- E : D + 2 = 42
Now, where did I put that proof that Black = White?
A (currently short) list of People I know on here in Real Life(tm)
This will be a list of people I know, or have known in Real Life(tm) who also partake of H2G2.
To start with, my step son
Rodney Riley, who after only a very little badgering signed up as a researcher here... he's just finished his degree, so expect some good entries from him! :-)
I've also found an old friend known as Digger, but he does not appear to be active, certainly his bio page is empty. Shame... Come on John, come out into the open.
Where to next?
I expect to come back and write a fuller introduction at a later date.
For now, I send greetings to all who join together now in mourning the loss of a genius.
The Meaning of my Life
I decided that this page was getting rather long, and so I've moved my life story stuff off to a separate semi-biography.

So, forty today.
Now I stop ticking the 30-39 box and start ticking the 40-49 box. Have I changed? I don't think so.
I'm happy though: I was given a 'propper' watch... no battery... tells the time with a new system called clockwork.

Speed limits Aug 17, 2001
Right, I've started a new entry http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A617276
The reason is simple: on the way in to work this morning I was trundling along through Thelwall (in a 30 mph zone) when a car tore up behind me sat on my bumper for a while flashing its lights and then overtook at high speed blaring its horn. The road is residential and the time was just after 7 in the morning: not really a good time for using a horn...
I caught up with the car waiting at the next traffic lights... so what did it achieve?
Some people seem to be in an awful hurry to get themselves killed.
I hate driving. Can I go home now?

Tidy up. Jun 20, 2001
Just done a little tidy up.
My front page was getting far too long with a whole life story building up, so I've created a separate guide entry for my semi-bio.
I started an entry on Lymm, but haven't really got very much on it yet. Real Life(tm) does rather get in the way.
Still... I've not forgotten, and it will develop further.

Weekend Away May 22, 2001
Well, I've been away for a long weekend... it was Fiona's birthday last Friday, so we went away to Cemaes Bay on Anglesey, North Wales.
We always stop at the same place, it's a lovely guest house called Treddolphin, run by a wonderful couple called Bill and Frances O'Donnell. I have no qualms in recommending the place to anyone who is looking for a nice quiet base for a holiday.
We visited our normal haunts, eg Holyhead, South Stack, Oriel Ynys Mon (Angelsey Heritage Museum) in Llangefni...
On the way home yesterday we came via Llanberis and had a super time going round the Slate Museum (fascinating history of slate production, including demo's of slate splitting and dressing---that's making slates suitable for use as roof slates or whatever) and travelling on the train up Mount Snowdon (only able to go up three quarters of the way at the moment, the summit facilities open next week---May 26 or so---I think). You really get a mindboggling view from up there... I'm not generally good with hieghts, but I was okay so long as I stayed on the plateux (erm, however it's spelt).
Hmmm... there's more possible topics to research: Cemaes Bay, Llanberis, Slate, Mt Snowdon.
Lot's of idea's, but not much time to actually get on with it!!
