Another part of the beating of the bounds at Poole harbour is the local 'pirates' capturing a barmaid or two and setting out to sea. Cue all the local boat owners to charge about spraying the pirates with water, and trying to release the captives. In the evening any captured pirates are made to walk the plank into the harbour.
