The theatre was demolished in 1905 to make way for the new station. I suppose I said "used to be" as Aldwych itself in no longer an actively used underground station - probably not great English on my part and if my editor could correct it I'd be most grateful. It took me a year studying there to notice! It suddenly struck me when I was looking at the college from over the strand near Bush House. It has the odd red walls and STRAND STATION in big letters.
