Yep. Great stuff.

Sift 6oz self raising flour into a mixing bowl, add 2tsp ground ginger, grate in half a nutmeg. Add 12oz porrige oats, 2oz brown sugar, mix well. Melt 1oz of treacle and 4oz butter, then add to the mix with one egg and stir well. Bake at 150C for an hour and half. Yum smiley

To make extra moist, prick the base with a skewer and feed with ginger wine. Ideallly made a week in advance, but worth making now.

Now what about bobbing for apples or apples on a string? Anyone gonna try that??

Do you mean treacle toffee? I've never made that, i got mine from the pick and mix at woolies... smiley

I think it must be treacle toffee: it was very 'caramelly'. It certainly tasted of bonfire, anyway...

Composition is mainly (guess what?) treacle .... put in a tin & heated in the bonfire for a bit ...I think.
