You say that "A proper philosopher will attack an argument, but never attack its proponent."

Therefore, H2G2 is run on philosophical lines, in that we are discouraged from personal comment about guide entries etc?

It goes beyond Hootoo and philosophy - I think it's a maxim for everyone in any discussion anywhere. I've written a bit more about it at A800425 .....
