There are, I believe, two cricket clubs in Epping... Epping CC and Epping Foresters CC... I think it's Epping Foresters, rather than Epping, that have the pitch built 18" above the M25, because I've played there...

You are quite correct... a big 'oops' on my part there, thanks for pointing it out.

Just to put the record straight Epping Foresters CC play on Bell Common, which is the land over the M25 tunnel. Epping CC have their pitch on the Plain in Epping, which is somewhat closer to town.

Just out of interest, if you've played on Bell Common, could you feel the traffic underneath? I would swear blind that you can feel the lorries going though the tunnel, but I have been told this is just my over active imagination winkeye I'd like some independent verification on this please!

Sorry to disappoint, but I certainly didn't feel any traffic! It'd be bizarre if you could, I'd imagine it'd make batting in particular almost impossible...!
