Subject: Great Crivens, how depressing

What a depressingly ludicrous article. Who's responsible!? Oh, hundreds of people.

Let's just say this:

Eight glasses of water a day is preposterous and of no use unless avoiding work by claiming weak bladder. Most of the water you need comes from the food you eat during the day. A couple of glasses when wanted should suffice. I mean, let's face it, unless you're thirsty water is the worst drink in the world. Improve its taste by taking more whisky with it.

Balding men: don't listen to the hair Nazis, you will be vilified whatever you do (especially growing facial hair in compensation) so do what you like and sod them. Making up for lack of hair on top? Yes, and whyever not?

Back hair is unsightly? Oh please. Female armpit hair? What's wrong with that (or, indeed, any female hair)? In an age where we are prepared to pay through the oh-so-trimmed nose for organic, *natural*, produce, why are we so squeamish about the real natures of our own bodies?

I agree! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I quite like hairy. More interesting than baby smooth. smiley

Water is very good for you though, it improves your skin, stops dehydration, and can prevent water retention. There is a lot of salt in food these days, so that often 'mops up' any water in the food.

Good point about the salt but I still think that eight glasses is a bit excessive (unless they're shot glasses). As I get most of my water requirements from the ice in my G & T I don't have to worry.

Aesthetically speaking I didn't mind either way about hairy bods, though I'd often thought a woman could look rather fine with a waxed moustache (and I'm not talking about Immac). But the body facism related to hair removal is mind boggling and the aggressive self evident tone adopted in this area (as demonstrated in above article) has turned me quite pro hair.

One person's opinion seems to have been turned into advice there. But what can I say, it was an Editor. Not me of course! Let it all hang out I say. biggrin
