The nasty sticky residue left by hair spray & mousse can be removed from your hair by dissolving a tablespoonful of borax in warm water and using it as a final rinse. It also gets hair spray etc off mirrors if your aim's not that good smiley

Nice. Also, regular conditioning should be mandatory if you dye your hair as much as I do (it was blonde, then blue, then green, then blue again, then purple, and now black). My hair frizzes terribly because it has been stripped so badly. Here's a little tip for you alternative kids out there: Bleach is hell. Of course, the straw-like texture always comes in handy when you're spiking it up in a mohawk, because it tends to stay better.

A good fairly inexpensive way to keep your hair nice and soft is to use shampoo and conditioner made for horses. You can usually get a HUGE bottle of either for around $5, and the bottles usually last me around 2-3 months. No matter what I do to my hair I rarely get split ends, and it stays soft. I know that here in the US you can buy a few brands in most major stores now. Seems us horsey people started a trend ;-P.
