This is the Conversation Forum for Flamenco << OOoh.. Subject: Duende Posted Jul 7, 2001 by Gaia de la Frontera   Posting 1 Thank you for describing your experience of duende. I belong to a number of other discussion forums for flamenco and other gitano (Gypsy) issues. I have been frustrated frequently by people describing duende as "butterflies in the stomach" or "a tingling in the spine". To say those things is like comparing the snap of a dry twig to a nuclear explosion. Clearly that sort of description is written by people who have never actually been fortunate enough to experience duende and probably never will.
