  |  | you think it is disruptive now, at $70, wait until the same hardware is available for $20. That would make the cost in the UK less than the price of going out to a restraunt for a meal.
In fact, it would make it cheaper than getting a family sized pizza delivered in boston lincolnshire.
That means in about 3 years time, every house could have voice over ip, with embedded computing capabilities at no extra cost. Even better, if the funding is worked out properly, you could get fast broadband connectivity for less than you make every month from the phone calls. Add to that the open source development and distrubution model, and your capabilities could go up every month while your costs remained zero.
As this is cringley we are talking about, I have absolutely no doubt about the technical side of his claims, and my own knowledge of open source supports his position.
