  | | We encourage people to write about the places they know  A Researcher submitted this Entry on Stoke Newington, I happen to live there - and therefore I know a little bit about the place - and so contributed what I could. When we lead by example, ie write about places we *know*, we're quite likely to write about where we live... London
Incidentally, I'm Scottish and I lived in the West Midlands most of my life, and so I can understand fears of 'London-centricity'. I think the UK subject in the Earth section of the categories shows that we've got a good spread - people from all over Britain (indeed the world) writing about the places they know

I do love that comment "I happen to live there", small small world eh?!!!
I have no fears about London-Centricity, just that it is so wide spread here.
Anyway, I am not going down this road again. I ran into a 'London is the not just the center of the world, it is the world' person before and it just went back and forward.
I have noticed how defensive the powers behind H2G2 get when someone (that would be me) dare to take the piss or be somewhat bitchy.
Guide for everyone or soapbox for the few?
