  | | In jumps Phil, decked out in a white jacket with coulourful embroided trim, black britches, long white socks and black shoes. The outfit is topped with a staw boater with red and green ribbons. As he moves the bells on the outfit ring out. Looks for some others to do a morris dance with, but seeing none grabs a ribbon on the pole and dances round the pole.
*Phil who saw some morris dancing on easter sunday when out in Castleton, England*

  | | G'day! Happy May!!! Help yourselves to my basket of flowers! I have freshly picked lilac, cherry blossoms, as well as a hearty supply of these little white pretties I found along the river. *Pandora has her hair braided to her waist with a peach colored ribbon. She's wearing a white peasant top, a long peach broomstick skirt & is, of course, bare footed. She has a small bunch of the tiny white flowers tucked behind her ear* I'll have the end of this lovely purple ribbon, unless someone else has dibs...*takes ribbon and skips around the Maypole with the slight sound of a song whispering from her lips. You can hear the tinckle of little bells that hang from her waist. Ribbons tied 'round her ankel & wrists float in the air as she goes around and around...jumps over a handsome, clumsey, fellow who's on the ground laughing* This is wonderful! Thank you so for inviting me. I promise to ONLY drink enough mead as needed to clear the dust from my mouth. *Pandora continues to skip happily 'round the Maypole...*

  | | Phil stops dancing while he braids a floral wreath for his hat. He then starts sneezing as his hayfever comes on Takes a quick draught of mead to try and stop the sneezing.
Joins the others at the maypole and hope Blu can rustle up a few more maidens to chase down the lanes and across the fields later

Ah, lovely, a May pole. And lookit the pretty ribbons!!
A-choo. *itch, itch*
Excuse me whilst I take some allergy pills.
*grabs a long blue ribbon and starts to skip around the pole, trying hard not to collide with Gwennie and Metal Chicken*
Nice party you've got goin' here, blu. When do the rest of the, erm, festivities begin?
I'm expecting a visitor from far away, and I dare say we'll have our own Mayday celebration, a day or two late....

  | | AEndr, please come sit with me amd tell me the meaning behind the steps!!! PLEASE! *flutters big brown eyes hoping to learn an interesting bit of history* My Grandmother use to tell me of the Maypole dance 'in the old country'! Most folks don't even know that they are 'saposed ta' go in two directions with the ribbons...that's how the pretty pattern comes together at the end of the dance! From my understanding: two people take each the same color ribbon, then the next two take another two of another color ribbon. Each partner dances in the opposite direction of each other, trying not to become tangeled if you do...you call out."MAYDAY!" And the dance starts over again. I'm I correct? Did I earn the privilege of a story?!? *Pandora begins to hop up and down in anticipation* Tell me a story and I'll sing you a song! *Pandora has become quit childlike during this New Year celebration*

  | | *bp plunks down in the shade next to Marie-rae, dizzy and exhausted from spinning round the pole*
*grabs a big cU of mead and takes a long drink*
The only thing with this time of year is that everyone is out enjoying Real Life, and these forums move along a bit more slowly than they did in the dead of winter.
I suppose that should be seen as a good thing.
*gets back up for another go 'round the Maypole*

  | | *Pandora comes skipping back from the call of nature...sees Mari-rae sitting on the grass. Runs up behind her and showers her with cherry blossoms! Giggels in delight at the look on Mari-rae's face as she begins to realize what the heck's going on* Come on deary...come dance 'round the Maypole! It's fun...this'll be my second go 'round. I'm hoping for a story about the steps involved with the dance!!! If I'm Blessed with the story, I hope you'll all gather 'round for a listen up! We'll have a rest, drink mead and learn a thing or two...but for now...let's play at the Maypole! *pulls Mari-rae up by her hands* come on love...the fellows are awful at this! (awful funny!) Let's show them how to do this!!! *Pandora is in a VERY playful mood* Hello there billypilgrim! My but you're looking cheeky! This fresh air and skipping about will put the color into your face for sure!*takes hold of a pink ribbon, hands it to Mari-rae, takes another pink one for herself* Okay, you go that way, I'll go this way! *skips around*
