Isn't the reason you made the deal of you cooking and he washing up that neither of you would have to do both? Well, you still don't have to do the washing up, and all he has accomplished is that he hasn't have to do it either. You could of course start cooking badly, in the hope he'll take the hint and starts cooking too...
