So who should we have for Penelope Pitstop?
(she's got to be able to do the voice)

BTW: The convertor car was driven by Professor Pat Pending
(He was my favourite!)

That would be Farrah Fawcett (the original) or Cameron Diaz (the two remakes).

I'll just go and take my anorak of trivia off now...

Cameron Diaz would make a great Penelope Pitstop tongueout

And I suppose George Clooney would be a shoo-in for Peter Perfect

I'd go for Alan Rickman as Dick Dastardly, but he'd probably realise that as he's got the fastest car (he must have: all his dirty tricks involve ambushing the others from in front) there's not a huge amount of point in cheating.

It's probably inevitable that Muttley would be CGI, but they'd have to do him better than Scooby Doo. blue

I think he'd do OK.

Good call on Danny De Vito though.

Now we just need to fit Christopher Lloyd in somewhere....

Lloyd would work well as Prof. Pat Pending aswell....

Can anyone remember all the other drivers?

There's the Captain caveman rip-offs
The army guys
The lumberjack (Michael Palin!!!) and that bear...

If they did make a movie they'd probably add the Mystery Machine and the Flintstones...

I'm sure Jimster would gladly point this out if I didn't, but Wacky Races was in fact (loosely) based on a film in the first place, the mammoth "The Great Race" (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0059243), starring Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis.

Its popularity sadly declined somewhat after Natalie Wood died in a car crash.

I'd like to be the first to point out that we have no lives!

Maybe they should just fling 'main' Hanna-Barbera characters togethers...

Jetsons, Flintstones, Top Cat, Dastardly and Muttley, Scooby Doo, Captain caveman, Jabberjaw, Yogi Bear, The Hair Bear Bunch... and so on...

I have to speak up here. Natalie Wood died of drowning....leading to many sick jokes about being the only Wood that can't float. The part about The Great Race movie was correct otherwise.
