I'd get David Lynch to do the movie, with Kyle McLauchlin in the role of "Number Six"... laugh

You've been watching too much Kafka, namely the BBC's strangulated version of the Trial.

Apparently Patrick McGoohan has been helping with a film remake of the Prisoner, and yes, he is set to make a cameo appearance!

How about John Rhys Davies reprising the Leo McKern role as No2?

As long as he doesn't wear the Dwarf costume... laugh

There'd have to be several number 2's (fnar, fnar) throughout the production... Dennis Hopper, Eddie Izzard, Sean Connery, John Cleese and of course McGoohan himself... smiley

Would they use Portmeirion for the films location, or just film somewhere in downtown LA? Who would play no.6? Mel Gibson was interested at one point. They'll probably give the role to Leonardo diCaprio or Steven Seagal in a a masterstroke of Hollywood miscasting...erm

Portmeirion HAS to be the location. It would not work elsewhere (with the possible exception of somewhere in the Baltic Sea, southwest of Portugal, or just off the A20).
Hollywood would only muck it up, look what they did to Doctor Who!
Mel Gibson would change No6's nationality in every other scene(a la Braveheart)
Other recommendations:

Patrick Stewart to reprise the Peter Swanwick role of "the Supervisor - No26
John Rhys Davies not only to do a stint as Mo2, but following his acclaimed role on LOTR, maybe he could do "The Butler". Lenny the Goat could be Rover's first victim"

I think I'd better stop before this gets too surreal.cheers

I think the number 2s should either morph into each other, or rip their faces off in the manner of the recent BBC "Freeview" ads... biggrin

It's a long way from being the erstwhile mayor of Wetwang to interrogating a person with a much higher IQ. Maybe the blazer could be a new form of psycological interogation

"Tell me why you resigned or I'll force you to look at my new blazer (and tie)" - I'd tell him any thing he wanted to know!!wah

Actually, they already made it, as a segment in the middle of "Double Team" (Jean-Claude Van Damme, Dennis Rodman, Mickey Rourke)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119013/combined

When Van Damme's character is presumed dead, he's really been placed on a secret island by his government along with every other secret agent that ever mysteriously dissapeared... The island has strange mediterranean architecture, people wear blazers, play lots of chess and drive around in soft-top jeeps that look suspiciously like Mini-Mokes. They are obliged to follow orders from a disembodied voice related through loutspeakers, and the island is of course surrounded by hi-tech detection and interception equipment to prevent escape. I expected to see McGoohan at every turn... rofl
