Have seen no mention of the Todd River in Alice Springs Australia.Alice Springs is almost the geographical centre of Australia so The Todd is dry for most of the year. It is about 100metres wide where it goes thru Alice and must look spectacular when there is water in it. Each year they hold a Regatta on the river. None of the boats actually have bottoms and the sailors hold them up and run!
I have been on a camel ride along the river bed and it is lovely seeing all the Black Cockatoos in the trees on the banks. You also get to see lots of Aboriginal people who seem to spend most of their days sitting in groups on the edge of the river.
