I was amazed to discover that if you send a parcel by Parcelforce from, say, South London, intending it to be sent to an address one street away from yours, it has to go via Coventry in the Midlands. If you then ask for the parcel to be redirected to another address, your parcel will make another journey to Coventry before it gets to you.

I spent over a week trying to locate a parcel that they'd tried to deliver to me while I was out at work, and waited for days for them to return my calls. This prompted me to reword a certain song from the musical version of War of the Worlds.

'The chances of Parcelforce calling me back
Are a million to one, they said.

The chances of Parcelforce calling me back
Are a million to one
They said...

Doo doo doo
(No they won't, no they won't)

Doo doo doo
(Call you back, call you back...)'

I don't feel as if I can add to that but I feel as if I need to add my support here. In honour of all my missing deadstock '60s shoes. wah

As an impartial, non-commercial requirement, I should point out other courier services are available. Your shoes may be at risk if you do not keep up repayments on your shoes.

(thanks, Harry Hill)
