How many of us have parted with friends, after high school, or college, or whatever, on these words : "Let's meet again in 10 years, and see if you... and see if I..." ?

Helene and I were "bestest friends" (and sometimes rivals on grades and stuff), and we left high school promising that we'd meet again when she is a lawyer, and I can speak fluent Chinese. Sounded like half-romantic dreams, half-cynical jokes kids can make coexist in the same sentence.
The only part that hasn't come true, 15 years later, is that we haven't managed to convey the good news, as we've failed to ever see each other again...

Other things that I do now and really enjoy are the matured version of dreams I had as a kid. I wanted to be a teacher (my daytime job involves A LOT of training others), I loved school plays and theater (the art of DragQueens is an extreme act).

But I see myself very lucky, as it seems that many visitors of that conversation see a much larger gap between their young self and their present one, when they are only half my age !
Or is it because I only remember the things that actually, one way or another, came to life ?

bubbly magic bubbly

Incidentally, is this the reason why [whateverschool] N-years reunions are so exciting beforehand, so boring during the dinner, and so depressing for a while after ?
The gap ? The changes of dreams ?erm
