London has always been a busy city; there were problems with congestion long before the motor car was invented. With the situation getting steadily worse, London is one month away from being the first city in the world to introduce a charge to drive into it.

Congestion and the pollution that goes with it are very important issues. Are the many vehicles trying to get into our cities really necessary? Some of these journeys can be done quicker and easier by using public transport, yet people still prefer to drive. Are we choking not only the roads in our cities, but also ourselves?
