Talking Point: Making Friends

A group of friends

Making friends comes naturally to some people, they are always the centre of attention at parties, always on the go and their organiser strains under the pressure of phone numbers, addresses and invitations. Others, however, are not so lucky. Insecurities and shyness can be debilitating and make making friends difficult.

This week, we are asking you to talk about your friends and how you make them. If you are shy and have any good tips or if you are a friend magnet, we want to hear from you.

  • Do you make friends easily?

  • Do you have any tips for those of us who don't?

  • Is it easier to make friends in real life or online?

  • What is the best way of coping at a party where you don't know anyone?

  • Have you ever moved away from all your friends and had to start again? If so, how did you do it?

  • What is the best way of keeping new friends and building on the relationships?
