Talking Point: Crazy Olympics

A welly wanger wanging a welly

The Olympic Games, the Winter Games, and the Paralympic Games are taken very seriously by the participants, and more and more sports want to be included. However, welly wangers are never likely to bring home the coveted gold medal.

This is a shame for h2g2 Researchers, because while being the best in the world at swimming, sprinting or skiing is out of the question, 'surfing' is a sport at which we all excel.

  • If you could nominate any activity for inclusion in the Olympic Games, what would it be, and why?

  • What country would win if the only equines entered into the show-jumping ring were pantomime horses?

  • The three legged 100m sprint sounds like a giggle. How would you chose your partner?

  • Which country park has the best hills for the 'sliding down the hill on your butt' event?

  • Line-dancing, karaoke, the Macerena, morris dancing; where are our medals for these events? After a few drinks we're the best in the world!

  • Dancing round your handbag is the best exercise known to man. Torvill and Dean, eat your heart out as Tracey from Essex snatches gold.
