One day, a nice person named Daddy Doodles - Now married with 2.4 Doodlets asked 'why is the AWW still such a dead-end?'. And a few people debated that for a while, eventually coming up with a strong idea. Then it was implemented in September 2003.

And that was the UnderGuide.

Long before, a group of people formed a committee of anarchists whose purpose was to promote alternative writing on h2g2. They got a column in The Post, and endured for a long time.

And that was AGG/GAG/CAC.

One day, their paths crossed, when the UnderGuide realized that it needed an outlet for great writing that was too controversial, or offensive, or occasionally too unfinished, for h2g2's Front Page. And the CAC Continuum became a more alternative, more subversive, more risk-taking half-way house.

So there you go. We're working on it¹.
