Post Graphics Apr 30, 2009
Hi all,
Just a quick apology for the continuing non-appearance of most of the graphics in this week's issue. It's entirely my fault for not being specific enough in my instructions to the Team and particularly the new Post Artists, so if you'd like to kick somebody about it I'm over here.
And apologies to Eds for creating extra work for them.
Rich

Sad News Apr 21, 2009
For those of you who haven't heard, Researcher pheloxi died on Sunday morning:
F64198?thread=6507944
Pheloxi was a much-loved and long-standing member of the community, and will be missed by many people here.
I think it's only right that we put something together in his memory, so I'd like to put together a Memorial Wall for the next issue. If you'd like to leave a comment, memory or thought in this thread, we'll bring them together in something fitting for the next issue. Those of you who have written journals mourning his passing may wish to direct people here if you think they'd like to contribute.
I'd be grateful if you would add only comments you would like us to add to the article to this thread.

Vogon Poetry Voting Jan 10, 2009
It seems I've made a rather monumental mistake in tallying the votes for the Vogon Poetry contest.
In the usual pre-publication rush, I seem to have counted the votes for Pinniped's poem with the votes for his Vogon poem, leaving him as the winner of the latter. With the votes allocated to the correct poems, though, Pin is left as the honourable runner-up in both, but the winner of neither.
Belated congratulations to Beatrice, then, and my sincerest, grovelling, humble apologies to you both for this rather idiotic mistake.

Missing Graphics Nov 6, 2008
We seem to have a problem with the graphics for this week's issue, meaning there is going to be a delay to the publication of some columns - most notably the 42-Word Stories and this issue's cartoons. I'm hoping to find out what the problem is tomorrow, and we should have the missing columns in place by tomorrow night.
My sincere apologies for this, but at the moment it's beyond our control.

Vacancy for Post Assistant Editor! Aug 27, 2008
For those of you who haven't been paying attention, The Post is currently looking for a new Assistant Editor. We seem to be a bit short of applicants in that we haven't had any yet, so I thought I'd detail the job a a bit further here in case anyone who might be interested in the job is reading!
We're looking an Assistant Editor to help prepare the copy and A-spaces for publication each issue. There is a bit of time pressure involved, as you'd be editing, creating A-spaces for and archiving 6-8 articles every fortnight between Sunday and Wednesday. you would need to be reliable and to be able to commit a certain amount of time to volunteering for us on a fortnightly basis. Once you're up to speed, I'd estimate that each article would take you about 10-15 minutes to edit. It's not a huge time commitment, but it is a regular one!
I guess I would say this, but these are quite exciting times to be involved with The Post. As well as being blessed with a great set of regular columnists at the moment, we have a number of ideas bubbling under for the autumn, and (apart from me) everyone involved is incredibly friendly, enthusiastic and easy to work with. I'm really keen to get the vacancy filled in time for our next issue, so if you're interested please give me a shout asap at the normal email address.
