Complete Update Aug 10, 2000
Well it's been far too long since I've been on the h2g2 site and put anything in my journal. As you can see above, I have now quit my physics course (really should get round to telling the university). I'm now employed as a chargehand at the wonderful drinking establishment that is the Junction Bar on West Preston St in Edinburgh. Of course this means that my access to h2g2 may become limited as I loose access to the university labs in October (when the university finally catches onto the fact that I've left. I would have thought my absence from my exams would be enough of a hint but apparantly not).
Oh well what fun. Anyway I'm going to stop typing as I'm sure noone is reading this anyway (if you are reading this, thanx for reading it (and please discuss it to let me know that it has been read))

Student Finances Jul 19, 1999
One thing I've noticed is that however little money students have they always find ways to spend more. I discovered this in working out exactly how much money I had spent in the last academic year and then having a heart attack. I managed to spend in excess of £5000 last year and I know people who have spent more than me. What is it about student life that allows them to spend more money than they have and more importantly, WHERE HAS ALL MY MONEY GONE?!?!?!?!?!?

Walking distances Jul 16, 1999
Why is it that just about everything in the city of Edinburgh is within walking distance even if it's 1000 miles away. In my normal home I'd have enough difficulty walking to the shop but now I'm walking miles and miles just for the sole purpose of getting to a computer lab in order to check my e-mail. Perhaps there is some kind of thing in the cities that shrinks very large distances. Or not!
