ABOUT THIS RESEARCHER

Created: 1st May 1999
The Home Page of the Mighty Doctor John Smith
Welcome to my humble page. I'm afraid it's not flashy or pretty, but you'll live. Feel free to take a look around, and, while you're here, I'd appreciate any feedback you may have on anything I've submitted to our dear editors.

I have two quick invitations for anyone passing this way: For those of you who are Christians, I would like to know why you believe what you believe. Give me evidence and reason. For you atheists out there, I would like to hear the best case FOR atheism that you can muster. I don't want a case against religion -- I want a case for atheism. I appreciate anyone's input.

Oh, and by the way, I'm planning on constructing a rather lengthy explanation and defense of Christianity in the immediate future,1 so keep an eye out for that.

Various ponderings and links...

These are mostly for my convenience, but you're certainly welcome to use them.

Here are a few of my better entries:

Click here to learn a little bit about the horrendous subject of Organic Chemistry.

This one describes some of the finer points of Marker Fighting.

Hebrew is truly a wonderful language.

Or, if you prefer, go to this one to see the approved entry on Hebrew.

I for one happen rather to like Daleks.

Thpppfft.

The Wesleyan Quadrilateral is a wonderful philosophy of thought.

1 "Immediate future" is here defined as any time within the next decade or two.

I suppose it's about time I got back to my h2g2 duties again. So many forums, so little time...

Frosty is happy.
Oct 30, 1999

After a bit of trouble, I've finally realized my dream of creating some 'Frosty Sez' posters on the computer. (If you're wondering what I'm talking about, take a look at my 'Frosty' user page below.) So far, I've made two of them and they look pretty good. I'm sure they'll get better as I practice more, though.

Enough with the footnotes already!
Oct 28, 1999

It seems as though the latest fad around here is to put a footnote into a guide entry after every five or six words. That is profoundly annoying...

Grrr...

I just thought of something... Have you ever noticed how people always whine about how Christianity is so 'unscientific' but then don't even question the really weird Eastern religions? There's some pretty bizarre stuff out there that a lot of people will swallow hook, line, and sinker without thinking twice. Those same people will then blast Christians for blindly following superstitious nonsense... I just thought I'd vent for a bit. Don't mind me.

Does anybody know when they start paying us for this field researcher thing?
