The bubble of which I speak is the beloved fish-bowl in which I live - A University Campus! Separated from reality by a mile wide stretch of woodland and countless miles of ocean, life in the outside world glides by hardly noticed. A few rays of reality occasionally filter through to us, though sometimes measarably distorted by the protective field known affectionately as "Campus Life". "Campus Life" effectively screens out any distracting world events (wars, famines, elephant stampedes, etc.) leaving those engulfed in its muffling embrace free to concentrate on expanding their minds and destroying their livers.

Luckily, we have internet access inside the bubble, and consequently can spread the outlandish customs and conventions we create here in our loving academic institution. Speaking of outlandish customs, it is about time that I resumed chasing young students with large mirrors away from enraged construction workers.

The Sonnet of the Grapefruit
