ABOUT THIS RESEARCHER

Created: 22nd January 2002
An expert is some one who has made all the possible mistakes in his field
My name may have had you into thinking I'm an avid starwars fan, but you'll all be glad to hear that, it is, in fact down to sheer lack of imagination.

Well I'm saying goodbye for now as my new job dosnt allow access to the BBC webpages and I dont have a connection at home so maybe I'll be back in the near future.

In the meantime, I'd recommend a look at the scottish researchers page A599376 or if readings your thing pop along to the H2G2 bookworms club A745544

JOURNAL
West Highland Way
Aug 16, 2002

Spent most of last week walking the west highland way (WHW). If you dont know what the WHW is, it is a long distance walk from Milngavie (pronounced Mul-guy)a town joined to the north of Glasgow over 95 or so miles to Fort William. The walk passes through some of the most beutiful and desolate areas of scotland, to be honest it was breathtaking. Living in southern Scotland you sometimes forget the amazing country surronding us.

I found the way was a life changing experience, after completing it I feel I can do anything. So if you fancy a holiday with a difference I would highly recommend walking the WHW.

France
Jun 20, 2002

Not been posting for a while so thought I'd better make an entry. Just got back from France where I was at a conference. Top stuff! fine wine and food but I did eat veal by mistake (thought it was pork). Anyway the with the world cup in full flow and England doing well (but no really playing that well) i'm in a bit of a quandry. I'd like to see England win due to nice nieghbourly sentiments(i'm half english after all), but I dont want them to win as the smug harping on about it fir the next 36 years or so may be too much. Och well I could always leave the country! (if you are English imagine Germany winning sadface and you are stuck there surrounded by smug german fanssadface , its a bit like that for us in Scotland sadface )

I'm on to pastures new, and not before time! I've only about 3 months of experimental work left on my PhD, so things are starting to get scary. Still much better than real work........
