ABOUT THIS RESEARCHER

WARNING!
This personal space has been painted with indelible trog paint by Cal I'm gradually painting over it in the normal colour but it's not finished yet. Be careful, bits may still be wet.

Hi,
I'm Chris. I joined h2g2 in June 2001 and it doesn't look like I'll be leaving in a hurry!

I have recently (well, actually not that recently any more) become a Keeper and acquired the title "Keeper of typos and spelling errers"

TyPolytechnic

In an effort to bring the joys of alternative typography to the masses, I have set up the h2g2 TyPolytechnic as a place where like minded people can come together and improve their unconventional spelling. Senior lecturer at the Typoly is LighthouseGirl UK

The TyPoly awards a number of qualifications from OATs (Ordinary Alternative Typography levels) all the way up to PrATs (Professor of Alternative Typography). Claim yours today!

Also, why not join a new word-game at the Training Arena for Lexicographic Creativity (T.A.L.C.)

My Real Name is Chris

I'm also a member of the my real name is Chris club

TypOrphanage

For all those people and creatures created by careless h2g2 keystrokes, I have also set up the h2g2 TypOrphanage . Come and visit and support our worthy cause.

The TypOrphanage is now a sub-organisation within the umbrellar of the TyPolytechnic

Tuits

This a a round tuit:

It's not mine, this one belongs to Master B. I haven't got a round tuit yet, but hold on, I'll be getting a round tuit pretty soon now.

Links

When I'm not in h2g2, I advise people about patents - see this entry, currently recommended for editing (shameless plug). The most ridiculous I have yet met can be seen at: Wacky Patent of the month (Nov 1996)

Almost as bizarre, but rather easier to clean up after is: Wacky Patent of the month (Feb 1997)

Not sure whether I ever got round to putting a "42ism" down, but mine's remarkably easy and symmetrical - 1x7+9x0+5x7=42 - easy hey.

For Zaphod (& anyone who's interested) - the ChemSoc page on Alchemical Symbols & Alchemy. Hope it's of interest.

I have been finding this pop-up conversation thingy handy, only I can't seem to get the link to work quite correctly..

Nonsense of the day:

We need Gnus - Lots of Gnus.

’Tis a favourite project of mine,
A new value of pi to assign.
I would fix it at 3,
For it’s simpler, you see,
Than 3 point 1 4 1 5 9

Duct tape is like the Force. It has a light side and a dark side, and it holds the universe together.

When I get the chance, I shall be appearing on the hootoo researcher's map, so this is just to remind me where to find it.
