Time Passing May 29, 2006
Such a long time since I updated my journal! Daughter, aka The Sock Fairy, is in the last term of her 3 year undergraduate course - she hopes to do a masters next year. The Evil Toast Elf is doing A levels, and I am now a Flight Data Analyst. I am finding the work very interesting, and can't believe my luck in finding such a job.

Sock Fairy Sep 28, 2003
The sock fairy has flitted away! though she is due back for a visit next weekend. The house seems quieter, and the washed socks lie in the basket unpaired. The Evil toast elf is wandering about looking lost, and he says even the crumb goblins are unhappy.

Halloween Oct 31, 2001
As usual, the kids have done pumpkin lanterns and we have a big bowl of cold spaghetti and jelly which fits inside a plastic cauldron. Any trick or treaters have to find the sweets in this clamy, slimy, slithery mix. It goes down really well with the older kids: the younger ones aren't so sure. Still Tony is more than happy to put his fingers in to find the treats for the little ones.
I would like to do what Mum used to do - Raisins in flaming rum. You pick the raisins out. But I don't think it would be a very safe thing to do.
Carly has put on one of her dragon tee shirts and I bought some blue material covered in silver moons and pentangles which she has drapped round herself like a long shawl. With a witch's hat on she looks most impressive.

Scable Aug 11, 2001
This holiday I tried the Scable and it was fantastic! My every loving wanted to do another bungy jump so we went to the AJ Hackett site at Soulevre (Normandy, France). While he and Big Tone got themselves sorted out, me and my nephew Greg went to look at the Scable - a 400 meter cable ride across the valley starting about 150 meters up. We decided to give it a try.
The crew get you into the sort of harness rock climbers wear, then clip you onto the cable, while you stand there looking at the drop and thinking "This is not a good idea". You grab hold of a handle on each other's harness, run down a short, wooden ramp, then off into thin air. It is brilliant! The rush, both physical and mental is superb. It was so good we HAD to do it again.
Will I bungy jump? I still don't know, but I would definately do the Scable again
