College acceptance guaranteed! Yesterday
I got Andrew's Literacy result today, he passed his GCSE which means he has two which means he's guaranteed his college place
Good karma does, work because I was in Tescos with Mum this morn and I found someone's credit card on the floor on the way out! I took it to Customer Services and they announced it on the tannoy straight away and a man ran in from the carpark, he'd been frantic looking for his card and was about to phone round and cancel it. He was very grateful, I just said I was happy to help, and hope that someone would do that for me. Pass it on
Then I got that news...

If you can see the Moon 3 Days Ago
...you're in for a treat!
I've just been watching the glorious full moon rise, it's huge and through the binos you can make out lots of features. The stripy clouds streaked across (small) parts made it look a bit like Jupiter when I first turned the binos on it.
I've sent text alerts to my friends who might be interested, but those around the world will have to look later, and tomorrow there's a lunar eclipse but only from the Southern Hemisphere.
Going back out to moon-gaze again! *waves*

Throwing in the trowel 3 Days Ago
I my garden(s) but it's all getting too much I spent an hour on Saturday trimming a buddleia which had grown so fast it was bashing against my front window (and even into the house!) that almost filled the garden recycle bin but looks a lot better now. I did feel some twinges in my back but felt OK after some Ibuprofen, couldn't have a long soak though as is my (used to be) way of dealing with post-gardening stints.
New photos in my gardening folder at Picasa btw, http://picasaweb.google.com/galaxybabe/GardenPhotos2009# (just a few, 44+45 and 34 to compare with 33), an visitor (44) to my latest addition buddleia (blue) and also how that b/day from my little brother (hah, he's over 6') has blossomed since he gave me it for my birthday and the lovely trailing million bells; that's just one but it's the prettiest and best performer IMHO.
Stupid woman went and did an hour in the garden *tidying* is all - on Sunday as well. I dug up some dandelions and nettles and couch grass. That's all. Last night I thought my back had seized up, the pain didn't go even with Ibuprofen and now I've decided I can't cope with gardening *and* housework any longer. Dropping housework is not an option but I'm going to have to employ a gardener. I've rung round and only one is available, but I want a reputable firm not someone who's going to destroy my precious escape. Will cost but hopefully will be worth it; can't see me doing much else this year especially as the PC needs replacing
good job for Lady Grey
off shopping with Andrew, later guys

Life-changing events 2 Weeks Ago
This is Andrew's last week at school, he's been there since he was 4. He starts college in Sept. He was a little difficult yesterday, refused to go along to Mum's local to meet up with Allan, Jenny & baby Harrison, for Sunday lunch (he normally is quite eager to see Allan, nagging me when he's next visiting...) so I had to leave him (I was collecting Mum). We had just ordered when Laura and Liam turned up, so it was quite a family gathering. We toasted absent friends and loved ones ( ) it being Father's Day
Anyway, Allan and and Jenny had spent their last couple of visits moaning about the cost of nursery care for Harrison since she returned to work apparently it costs the same as her wages The upshot is they are thinking of moving to Cleethorpes because Sheffield isn't the kind of place they want to raise Harrison, and they want him to go to school here. Considering how much Laura moaned about what she was paying the out-of-school club for Liam's care before and after school, I don't see that they'll be any better off unless of course they're expecting me to volunteer?
